Juliana Stratton, Lt. Governor of Illinois

Juliana Stratton is serving all of Illinois as the 48th Lieutenant Governor. She brings her visionary leadership to more than a dozen councils, commissions, boards, and agencies as Chair or executive liaison, including the Illinois Council on Women and Girls; the Governor’s Rural Affairs Council; the Military Economic Development Committee; the Rivers of Illinois Coordinating Council and the newly formed Healing-Centered Task Force. Her portfolio also includes overseeing the administration’s Justice, Equity, and Opportunity Initiative; chairing the board of the Restore, Reinvest, and Renew Program; and leading a range of office initiatives that address the needs of Illinoisans. Lt. Governor Stratton is the former Chair of the National Lieutenant Governors Association, and she is actively engaged with The Chicago Network; Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated; and The Links, Incorporated. In her free time, she enjoys running, cooking, and spending time with her husband Bryan and four daughters.


Marianne Bertrand, Ph.D.
Chris P. Dialynas Distinguished Service Professor of Economics
University of Chicago Booth School of Business

Marianne Bertrand is the Chris P. Dialynas Distinguished Service Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Born in Belgium, Professor Bertrand received a Bachelor's Degree in economics from Belgium's Universite Libre de Bruxelles in 1991, followed by a Master's Degree in econometrics from the same institution the next year. She earned a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University in 1998. She was a faculty member in the Department of Economics at Princeton University for two years before joining Chicago Booth in 2000.

Professor Bertrand is an applied micro-economist whose research covers the fields of labor economics, corporate finance, political economy, and development economics. Her research in these areas has been published widely, including numerous research articles in the Quarterly Journal of Economics, the Journal of Political Economy, the American Economic Review, and the Review of Economic Studies.

Professor Bertrand is a Co-Director of Chicago Booth’s Rustandy Center for Social Sector Innovation and the Director of the Inclusive Economy Lab at the University of Chicago Urban Labs. Professor Bertrand also served as co-editor of the American Economic Review. She has received several awards and honors, including the 2004 Elaine Bennett Research Prize, awarded by the American Economic Association to recognize and honor outstanding research in any field of economics by a woman at the beginning of her career, and the 2012 Society of Labor Economists’ Rosen Prize for Outstanding Contributions to Labor Economics. Bertrand is a Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research, the Center for Economic Policy Research, and the Institute for the Study of Labor. She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and of the Econometric Society, and a member of the National Academy of Sciences.


Kristie P. Paskvan, MBA, CPA
Board Director, the First Women's Bank

Kristie Paskvan is an experienced board member and CFO/COO/President with over 25 years of experience assisting diversified financial services, asset management, real estate, insurance, and professional services companies to grow their businesses worldwide. Kristie’s career reflects a demonstrated history in leading enterprise-wide transformation and strategic financial initiatives, including business intelligence, M&A due diligence and implementation initiatives, enterprise risk management, regulatory and capital allocation oversight, and cost efficiency.

Kristie is a board director at First Women’s Bank (FWB) - a de novo bank launched in 2021, where she serves as the Audit Committee Chair, and is a member of both the Risk and Compensation committees. She serves as the Audit Chair for Smithbucklin - a Chicago-based association management company, and for NCCI, which provides objective state insurance rate and loss cost recommendations. Kristie sits on the United Way of Metropolitan Chicago board of directors and the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce board. She is a member of the University of Illinois Dean’s Business Council for the Gies College of Business.

Previously Kristie was the CFO and COO at Mesirow Financial, a global financial services company with concentrations in investment management and capital markets. She was responsible for audit, tax, key metrics, budgeting and planning, and risk management. Kristie served on the Mesirow Financial board of directors for 6 years, participating in, or leading numerous committees including strategy, audit, information technology, HR & compensation, and enterprise risk management. Kristie started her career in public accounting at Goldberg Geiser. Subsequently, she worked at JMB Realty and Stein and Company, both in the real estate industry. In 2017, she was honored as Corporate Citizen of the Year by the Executive Club of Chicago. Kristie received her BS in Accounting from the University of Illinois and has an Executive MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management. She is a member of the Illinois CPA Society and International Women’s Forum.
